John Philip was born! It’s amazing the details you forget with time, but he was a very popular baby with all the girls at my dance studio! It seems like this last year, he transitioned from a “little” kid to a “big” kid. He’s blossomed into a very chatty, social boy who likes to be silly, who likes to dance, and who likes to catch lizards and frogs. What he wants most of all is to have a pet lizard. He loves to do science experiments (his birthday party theme this weekend) and he asks incredibly good questions…most of the time I have to tell him, “I don’t know. We’ll have to look it up!”
He never ceases to amaze me. When he was in preschool and pre-kindergarten, he had a hard time with change. As long as he was warned ahead of time that something was going to happen he’d be upset, but it wasn’t too bad. So, when we knew we were moving to Africa, we were worried that he was going to have a difficult time with this because it was a VERY big change. Turned out, he was the one with the easiest adjustment! He settled into school and has been happy as a clam. He has a lot of friends at school, and he’s making leaps and bounds in his reading and writing (something he didn’t like too much but is coming around).
It’s hard to believe 7 years have gone by already. Here’s to the little boy whose smile always brightens my day! We love you!
